ReplyDeleteThanx for considering my suggestion that you get a bell for Ewe Teck (posted 26/1/10).Everyone would certainly remember the clanging of the school bell. Good job Tom.
JOSEPHINE,
ReplyDeleteDOING WHAT WE CAN...THAT WAS A BRILLIANT SUGGESTION...I WILL KEEP YOU ALL GUESSING WHERE I GOT THE BELL...hehe ;-))))
Thomas!!! are you going to steal that bell......is that the bell of KTGSS!!!......I don't think so.....the bell of KTGSS was auctioned many years ago and if I'm not wrong it was the end of 1972.......the bidder then was ROBIN Wee Ewe Teck...heee.heee...haa...haa.......should ask him how much did he bid for that old bell..
ReplyDeleteDAVID,
ReplyDeleteI'M NOT GONNA STEAL...JUST ''PINJAM'''SEKEJAP SAJA...UNTUK MALAM ITU... ;-))))
Thomas,
ReplyDeleteWe have an electric bell now. Nothing beats the sound of the shao lin temple bell, Uncle FK yes?
The least we can show you guys on your visit are the yellow-bells, luxuriantly growing in the school. [incidentally Isabella Wong's endearment term is 'belle', though she isn't very fond of yellow]
POH,
ReplyDeleteTRUE...NOTHING BEATS THE NATURAL BIG BELL...WELL, IT IS JUST KEEPING WITH THE FLOW OF MODERNIZATION...
TODAY, IF YOU ASK THE STUDENTS TO RING THIS TYPE OF BELL EVERYDAY, THEIR PARENTS WILL PROBABLY COMPLAIN THAT THE SCHOOL IS ABUSING THEIR CHILDREN FOR DOING THAT LOWLY WORK.
I BELIEVE, IN OUR DAYS, IT WAS KIND OF FUN RINGING THE BELL. I DIDN'T MIND DOING THE RINGING...IF I HAD THAT CHANCE.
THOMAS KOH.
ReplyDeleteEVEYBODY TALK ABOUT THE BELL NOW...we even like to BELLBOTTOM trousers .in our olden days...1st bellbotten 20 inches later it grow bigger evn have 28,30.32inches ALL have ;INCREIBLE legs..sorry no increible huck..HA HA.
I REMEMBER DAVID LAW WEARING 32" BELL-BOTTOMED PANTS...IT ACTUALLY FITTED HIM WELL BECAUSE HE WAS TALL & LANKY...;-))))
ReplyDeleteHi, Classmates and Schoolmates of KTGSS
ReplyDeleteThe bell rings without the Sarawak State Anthem would be meaningless....now this is one true song of our time....I got it in the net....please pay attention....here it goes!!!!
Fair Land Sarawak lyrics : 1963 - 1973
Fair land Sarawak we will never cease to honour thee
And with our Loyal Sons defend your Liberty
From your high forest hills down to the open sea
May freedom ever reign, men live in unity
Proudly our flag flies high above our Country strong and free
Long may our people live in peace and Harmony.
?????? Do you think we can sing this song on the day of the BB2010? or probably sing the old state anthem first then the present state anthem
DAVID,
ReplyDeleteI DON'T EVEN REMEMBER HOW IT SOUNDS LIKE...WHAT MORE TO SAY SING IT...
Hi, Thomas Ah Choon
ReplyDeleteActually it was a conversation between myself & Vinvent Liu remembering the good old school days last year that.....talk about few things including the 'state anthem'......I told him that I'm gonna post it in the blog....but forgot about it.....and suddenly today I remembered when I did my posting in the blog.....I was looking through the comments in the blog archive 'School Bell' and it struck my mind....the bell for the assembly....and that's where it started......I looked in the net and found this magnificient song of our good old days state anthem.....I think I can still remember the tune....
DAVID,
ReplyDeleteWE GIVE U THE HONOR TO SING, OK?
DAVID LAW'
ReplyDeletemay be you can SING 'HWA HEE TU HO'...HOKIEN KUA......
