We are trying to re-connect old classmates and school mates for a Reunion in conjunction of the 4oth Anniversary of the founding of Kuching Town Government Secondary School. Hi Joo and Ted! I think that guy you mention is Sim Kay Soon...my class mate and neighbour..most probablt spend too much time studying and forgot to eat properly...He's a brilliant guy and a real gentleman....not scrony but all round nice guy...good at hockey!!

Is that Iris Lee in the middle of the picture ? I remembered she's in Green House but cannot recalled she swam then . She told us recently she was busy dating a guy from another school who lived just across the school. Gosh, she started early and still going strong ... 3 cheers to you Iris.

Hi David,Anthony & PCK,I remembered Kay Soon was assigned to swim backstroke in the 4X100m Medley relay.Being the 1st swimmer,he zigzaged all the way from start to finish last!!.But luckily,the next 3 swimmers lead by Yu Teck managed to catch up other teams.

ReplyDeleteYour memory damn good. It does jog my memory. I think I was one of the other 3 swimmers, I did breast stroke . I think we were the underdog. I think after the photo shoot most of us were thrown into the pool or happily jump with our clothes on.

Hi Ted,Infact,I remember well because my Yellow House swimming team lost the event.The 4x100m Medley relay being the finale event and I was cheering for YH on top of my voice,and went home dissappointed.When Kay Soon(Green House) squandered the 1st leg of the race with zigzag backstroke,I thought YH would be sure winner but not realising you have Yu Teck and company catching up later.

Robert is nearest to him...sportman as he is ...can easily give Kay Soon a piggy back ride to Kch!! ha ha Ever heard of Green with Envy...swimming is Green House thing ...remembered cheering for Green House too...and to eat Belacan Beehoon outside the pool in celebration!!! ha ha
ReplyDeleteHi Siong Moh!!! remembered one incident at the swimming ,there is an old man..lifeguard..caretaker or something..I was there and a couple of nasty boys were looking for a fight and the old man took a milkmaid tin and poke a hole into the can with his fingers to show those boys and they ran helter sketters in all directions...ha ha wonder this kung fu master is still around!!

ReplyDeleteI think the kung-fu master was gone,even one of the lifeguards, Mr.Yap has passed away few years after retirement.
So sad!!! Siong Moh...If not could have gotten him to demo his abilities at 2010BB...Never mind Uncle Fatt Khiong can do the drunken Master too....ha ha
